Somebody Cares Home Office has moved
We are grateful to the United Way to have housed the home office of SCNE for the past 2 years. They gave us free office space, paid our phone bill, allowed us the use of all equipment, supplies, use of the parking lot for recieving tractor trailor trucks of food and to park our box truck!!! In addition they support us $83.33 monthly. They are currently going through a major transition and are down sizing the office space which means a good move for Somebody Cares because it puts us more accessable to the people we are serving. We will be sharing office space with CCF Street Church located behind Trinity Episcopal Church.

Block Party at GAR Park a Huge Success!
There were over 1,200 that attended the July 22 Block Party
inspite of the rain!
The party happened rain or shine. Far too much time, effort, money and planning go into one of these Block Parties to cancel because of rain. Besides having no where to store a tractor trailer truck of food, houseware and personal care products.
We started to set up @ 8:00 am in the rain, the party was scheduled for 11-2 .....at 10:45 am the rain stopped until 2:00 then it started to rain again.
It's amazing how God uses every opportunity to teach us something. As we stood in the down pour praying for it to stop I looked around at the hundreds of people who gathered early to line up to register. The rain didn't seem to bother them...they were used to dealing with the elements and having no place to go.
They had so looked forward to this day and there is no way we could have let them down. It was another reminder of the hardship that the low/no income have to face daily and the goodness of the Lord to provide such ABUNDANCE to remind us all of His great love for people and His heart to bless them.
A HUGE thank you to all the individuals, churches and business that donated time, money and resources to make it all happen!!

We are grateful to the Lord for the opportunity to share the vision of SCNE at one of the 25 workshops offered at the Equip 2006 Conference this year held in Marlborough, Mass.
check it out www.visionnewengland.org topic LOCAL LOVE
God is opening doors to cast the vision of Somebody Cares New England through out the Merrimack Valley area in Lowell, Newburyport, Lawrence and Westford, Mass. and Derry N.H.
Even from other parts of the nation, the director of a homeless outreach center in Ashland, Ohio is coming to learn how they can have a greater impact in serving their community.
Also August 4-7 we were blessed by Inside Out Soul Fest with a free vendor table and given an opportunity for a seminar slot titled "It Starts with One", all about starting a compassion movement in your local city. There were a number of New England contacts that were made thanks to Soul Fest.
SCNE TV Show!
Last year Nancy Fagen Director of Haverhill Department Social Services and Director of SCNE Marlene Yeo were scheduled to appear on one of the Haverhill Cable Station talk shows. Due to studio renovations we were cancelled. Darlene Beals who works for the cable station suggested that with all the exciting things that were happening with Somebody Cares in the city that we become trained to host our own show.
Thanks to the dedication, training and hard work of George, Connie, Sam, Dan and Tim Plouffe, we now have our own show.
The show is taped each month and shown several times through out the month on Channel 22. We have a variety of guests including those we have had the privelege to minister to, ministries and organizations that we have been able to support and serve as well as those that collaborate with SCNE to cause greater synergy and effectiveness.

The Sound of Melodies
Support Somebody Cares New England by purchasing the debut Album from Leeland! This anointed 17 year old worship leader’s passion for Christ and compassion for man is all over his music! Check out some of his lyrics below from the song "Tears of the Saints".
There are many prodigal sons
On our city streets they run
Searching for shelter
There are homes broken down
People's hopes have fallen to the ground
This is an emergency!
There are tears from the saints
For the lost and unsaved
We're crying for them come back home
We're crying for them come back home
And all Your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
